Alice in a Field of Mushrooms

Hello! Did you enjoy the Hop yesterday? I am so excited about the new images coming out at Sweet Pea Stamps! While I wait for the rest of mine to arrive, I thought I would play with Alice again and use her a little differently. This time I cut her out of her background (I also wiped away the ink form her hand and the bottom of her dress where the table legs cross it before I stamped her so I could draw a teacup in her hand.) I drew some mushroom cap shapes on the DP I wanted to use, cut those out, then drew some stems on white paper and colored them with my Copics. The "Drink Me" is from the Alice Sentiments set.

I was inspired to make this card from the challenge over at the Oh Alice challenge blog. It was to be inspired by this makeup case:
I was inspired by the mushrooms and Alice walking in the middle of them.

The Details:
Stamps: Elaine Cox Alice Drink Me (sheet 2, Plate 35 ), Alice Sentiments (Plate 37) - Sweet Pea Stamps

ATS Challenge - Newspaper

Hello! Happy Wednesday! Since it is Wednesday, that means there is a new challenge at the All That Scraps Challenge blog. Today's challenge is to use newspaper or a book in your card. Now, I don't know about you, but I have a HUGE attachment to books. I love the idea of an electronic reader (like the Kindle or something) but I can't see it replacing the feel of a book in my hand, or the smell of a real book (is that weird?). Anyway, because of that I couldn't bear to tear out a page of a book, even one I didn't like so I went with newspaper! To dress it up a bit I sprayed it several times with Shimmerz Spritz, then inked the edges up, and finally sewed on it. I made the flower by cutting 4 different sized of circles from the Spritzed newpaper. I cut about halfway through the circle and then overlapped the cut edges, making a slight cone, then layered my "cones". A brad holds them together and to the page!

The Details:
Stamp: from CC Designs Spring Stamp Kit (All That Scraps), Sentiment - Amy R Thank You Sentiments (ATS)
Paper: Newspaper, Nautical Blue Medium and Dark (Prism), Birchtone Dark (Prism), Very Vanilla (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E21,E25,E27,E29,E49
Clothes:E44,E47,E49,W0,W1,W3
Flowers: E50,E53,E55,B93,B95,B97
Misc: Shimmerz Spritz in Seafoam and Mudpie, Nestabilities Circles, Brad (Basic Grey
)

Thank you for visiting me today! I'd love to see your newspaper creations, too!

Puppet Angel in the Circus

Hello! I used a new image from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection called Puppet Angel in the Circus on my card today. (If you are a Sweet Pea Stamps fan be sure to stop back by on Thursday for our Blog Hop! We will have some sneak peeks of some really cute upcoming releases!) For this card, I used a fence border punch turned upside down on top of another punch for a decorative detail in the background. I think this is a good way to get my money's worth out of my punches!

The Details:
Stamp: Puppet Angel in the Circus - ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (Sweet Pea Stamps)
Paper: Making Memories, Blush Red Dark, Vibrant Pink, Black (all Prism), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: E50,E53,E55,R81
Hair: E00,E08,,E19,E18
Clothes and Wings: Y06,Y15,Y08,R24,R29,R39,R83,R85, both w/RV13 over them, R81, C5,C7,C9
Misc: Martha Stewart Fence Punch, EK Success Punch, Ribbon (?)

Have a magical day!

A Curious Case

I made this card for The Greeting Farms Case of the Curious Card. The adorable card that we are case-ing this week was made by Marie, the creator of Anya and Ian and the other fabulous TGF stamps.

I did a little altering, giving Ruby Stella's head. Before I glued the head on I glued down the two thin pieces of the "measuring tape" that I had drawn and cut out. I also drew a pair of scissors in her hand. For the dress on the dress form I cut out the dress from the discarded "Stella" body and traced it. I couldn't use it as it was stamped because it had Stella's arms on it! Once it was traced I only had a few details to add - the heart at the neckline and the two small parts at the bottom of hte dress that are flipped up! Then I added the stand and neck of the dress form.

The Details:
Stamps: Ruby, Stella (The Greeting Farm) Sentiment (Stamping Bella)
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Tangeringe Tango (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00, E00,E11,R20
Hair: C3,C5,C7,C9,100
Clothes: YR00,YR04,YR07,YR09,G20,G21,G24,BG11,BG34,BG13
Dress and Form: E50,E53,E55,YR00,YR04,YR07,YR09,R27,R39
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Button (From stash), Foam Tape, Sewing Machine

Blue Spring Luna

Hello! Today I have made a card using Spring Luna from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (sheet 8, plate 30). I have decided to be more playful with the skin colors, which is hard for me because I am pretty comfortable (maybe too comfortable!) with my usual skin coloring. I am very happy with how it turned out though! You should try doing something different than you are used to. If it turns out terrible then what have you really lost besides a little time, and it may turn out wonderful!

The Details:
Stamp: Spring Luna (ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection - sheet 8, plate 30) from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: DCWV, Marigold Morning (retired SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: B91,B93,V000,BG000 over all
Hair: V000,V01,V04,V15,B63,BG000
Tail:V04,V15,V06.B63
Background:Y21,YR21,YR23
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Purple and Starry Night Stickles, Scallop Edge Punch (SU), Sakura Glaze Pen

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Bunny Wild Thing

Hiya! How are you today!? I'm pretty good! I am so happy that I got a chance to make this card! I have had this idea since I first got my "Bunny" Sweet November stamps! I know they are adorable Bunnies, but there was something about them that reminded me of Max from Where the Wild Things Are and so I had to do a little altering and combine them with my favorite Taylored Expressions set The Places You'll Go. I also used the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #100 for the layout!

So, to make Max I used Baby Bunnies Bunny and wiped away the sweet little Bunny with a baby wipe after inking up the stamp. I also wiped away most of the ears and the tips of the feet. I drew in very simple pointy ears and some claws on the end of the feet. I used the arm from Baby Bunnies Daffodil, wiping the ink off the hand and drawing in claws once it was stamped. I list my Copic colors below, but I wanted to point out that that my colors in the ocean scene were way too bright when I first finished so I tried to tone them down with a W0 and W1 marker. When that didn't tone it down enough I went over most of the picture with E43 I was pretty happy with that. I chose E43 because it was similar to the golden brown in the DP.

The Details:
Stamp: Baby Bunnies Bunny, Baby Bunnies Daffodil (Sweet November Stamps through All That Scraps) , The Places You'll Go (Taylored Expresssions)
Paper: Basic Grey, Chocolate Chip (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Antique Distress Ink
Copics:
Max:R00,E00,E11,R20, E44,E47,E49,B91,W0
Trees and Grass: YG21,YG23,YG25 all w/E43 over them, E44,E47,R00,R02 both w/E43 over them
Sky and Water: B93, B95 w/W0 and W1 over them
Misc: Nestabilities Circles, Brads (Basic Grey), Foam Tape

ATS Recipe Challenge

Hello! Today at the All That Scraps Challenge Blog we have a Recipe challenge - 4 Embellishments, 3 Papers, 2 Colors and 1 Image. I used an image from CC Designs Spring Stamp Kit which is 25% off until the end of February (after that the sale is over and they are available individually instead of as a kit.)

I hope I am not cheating by using 2 shades of blue and olive green as my "2 colors". It really is 2 colors - blue and green!! Do I have you convinced?! My 4 embellishments are liquid pearls, a button, ribbon and stickles. I used 2 different DP's on the background and then paper pieced her clothes with the third. I always use Paper Trey Ink white paper for my Copic coloring, but this was my first time using their Vintage Cream. It seemed to bleed quite a bit more than I was used to, but maybe I was just extra heavy handed!! I'll let ou know if I notice it in future cards.

The Details:
Stamp: CC Designs Spring Kit, Amy R Congrats Sentiments - both All That Scraps
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Early Bird, Island Mist Medium, Island Mist Dark (Prism), Vintage Cream (PTI)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E02,E08,E19,E18
Wings and Shoes: BG11, BG72,BG75,YG03 w/W0 over it, YG95
Misc: Lettuce Liquid Pearls, Button (SU), Ribbon (SU), Stardust Stickles, Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8, Corner Rounder (SU)

Thanks so much for visiting me today! I hope you can play along with us!

Awesome Love

Hello! I posted a card last week that I thought was going to be my Valentine to my DH, but when I got my Awesome Duo in the mail yesterday I couldn't resist making this card for him. He introduced me to comics when we first got married and for 10 years (pretty much until our daughter was born) we were huge comic geeks, taking home armloads of Comics every week and spending the weekends reading them together. We still love nothing better than a good (or even a bad!) Super Hero movie or TV show!

The Details:
Stamps: Awesome Duo, Sentiment - Sweet Deal, both The Greeting Farm
Paper: DCWV, Basic Black, Real Red, Yo Yo Yellow (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versa Magic Red magic, Color Box Blue Lagoon
Copics:
Skin: R00, E00,E11,R20
Anya: Hair: E02,E08,E09,E18
Clothes: R24,R27,R29,Y06,Y08,Y17
Ian: Hair: E40,E43,E44,E47
Clothes: B000,B01,B02,R24,R27,R29,Y06,Y08,Y17,C5,C7,C9
Misc: Spellbinder Nestabilities Heart, Martha Stewart Heart border punch (I used the tiny hearts that are left behind), Cranberry Liquid Pearls, Foam Tape

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow!

Black Rose Fairy

Hello! On my last couple of Sweet Pea cards I used a lot more embellishments than I usually do, so I decided to keep it a little simpler this time. These images are so gorgeous they don't really need all of those extra embellishment (although they look beautiful that way, too!) This one, called Black Rose Fairy, is on sale at Sweet Pea Stamps right now!

My background was made by rubbing Black Craft ink (Stampin' Up) over one side of my Cuttlebug embossing folder and then using gray cardstock. I tried to step out of my box a little on her skin coloring. I have a go-to skin color that I always use, so it's a little hard to let go and try something else, but I am pretty pleased with the result! I am so inspired by Randi and all of her fabulous color combos on skin and hair!

The Details:
Stamp: Black Rose Fairy (ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection sheet 7 plate 29)-Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Basic Gray and Basic Black (SU) White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Craft (SU)
Copics:
Skin: RV00,RV02
Hair: RV02,RV04,RV06,RV09
Clothes: C1,C3,C5,C7,C9
Misc: atyou Spica black glitter pen, Sakura Clear Stardust pen, Stardust Stickles, Black diamond Stickles

Have You Tried a Tri Fold Shutter?

If you are here to see some Sweet November sneak peeks, please scroll down to my second post!

I had not tried to make a tri fold shutter card before I got the challenge at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge Blog for this week. I followed This Tutorial at SCS and it was actually much easier than it looked! (I found on step 6 that the measurement that said "Cut 2 pieces of patterned paper 1 7/8” x 3 7/8” should have been 1 3/8 by 3 7/8, but it is possible I did something wrong!)

I used the adorable Darby and Bumble from Sweet November Stamps to make a birthday card. The sentiment on the middle panel is just spelled out with some letter stickers from my stash!

The Details:
Stamp: Darby and Bumbles (Sweet November)
Paper: Imaginisce, White for card base (SU), White for images (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin:R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: YR00,YR04,YR09
Clothes and Bumble: Y11, Y06,Y15,Y17,Co, C5,C7,C9
Flower: R24, R27,R29,YG03,YG25,YG17
Misc: Flowers (Prima), Ribbon (SU), Stardust Stickles

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you will try your hand at a tri fold card, too!

Some Bunny Loves You

I so badly wanted to use that sentiment with this card, but alas, I don't have a stamp that says that and all of my letter stickers were too big (and not brown. I really wanted brown words!) These are a couple more adorable Easter themed Sweet November stamps that will be out on the 15th (Monday) at All That Scraps. They are named Peter and April Rabbit. Aren't they so sweet? As soon as I saw them I said "Awww"!

The Details:

Paper: Crate Paper, Blush Blossom (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Distress ink

Misc: Scallop Edge Punch (SU), Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Recollections Pearls

Some Adorable Sweet November Bunnies

Hi! Guess what!? We get the next Sweet November release a little early this time (on Monday the 15th at All That Scraps) and they are SO adorable!!! Just wait until you see all of these cuties over the next couple of days!! I am starting the sneak peeks today with Bunny and Butterfly. I decided to just go crazy with the butterflies, punching some out with a Martha Stewart border punch and cutting the big one out of the Basic Grey paper.

The Details:
Stamp: Bunny and Butterfly (Sweet November Stamps) available at All That Scraps on Monday the 15th

Paper: Basic Grey, Tempting Turquoise (SU), Candle Glow Dark (Prism), White (Prism)

Even though these stamps are perfect for Spring or Easter cards, I immediately thought of making a "welcome baby" card with Bunny and Bunny. Then, when I remembered that I don't currently know anyone expecting, I decided to make it a "thinking of you" card. I think it is very sweet for that too.

Love Is Gone

I have used the gorgeous Love Is Gone from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (sheet 7, plate 29) for my card today. I wanted it to have a lot of dimension (which may be hard to see in this picture) so I stamped and colored her twice, with one of the images cut out and popped up. When I cut her out, I left off the back wing so it is the bottom layer showing there, and the top wing has an extra piece of foam tape to really make it stand up out of the frame.

The Details:
Stamps: Love Is Gone - ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (Sweet Pea Stamps)
Paper: Basic Grey, Spring Willow Dark, Iced Azalea (Prism), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Dew Drops Versamagic - Pixie Dust, Pink Petunia, Malted Mauve
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair:E50,V93
Clothes:R81,R83,R85,YG95,YG97,RV95,RV99
Background: RV941,RV93,RV95

All That Scraps Challenge - Valentine Packaging

Hi! This is my second post of the day (I know, I never do that, right!?) so if you are looking for the Quixotic Challenge card please scroll down!

Well, I have had quite a few exciting, wonderful opportunities open to me in the last month and now I have more news!! 2 days ago Christine from All That Scraps asked me if I would like to be a part of All That Scraps Challenge blog! Would I! Well, of course I would!! I get a lot of my paper and embellishments from ATS and they are also the place to get Sweet November Stamps (plus LOTS of other adorable stamps!!)

So last night I found out that today's challenge was to create "Valentine Packaging". I used the fabulous Sparkle Thistleweed (yep, she's been showing up a lot lately! I can't seem to stop using her!) The container was made with my Cricut and the Boxes, Tags and More cartridge. (Don't look too closely at the candy - it is leftover Christmas candy! I would be embarrassed that it is still around but I am too proud of myself that I haven't eaten it!!)

The Details:
Stamp: Sparkle Thistleweed - Sweet November Stamps
Paper: Basic Grey, Close to Cocoa (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Close to Cocoa (SU)
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: R81,R83,R85,R89
Clothes & Wings: R81,R83,E27,E29,E79

Chanter Heartsong in Love

Hello! Do you love Fairies like I do? Well, the Quixotic Challenge blog is having a "Do you believe in fairies" challenge, with a special spotlight on Amy's lovely Sweet November fairies!! We would love to see your fairy creations!! I made my card as a Valentine for my DH but I also thought the checked "yes" was my answer to the challenge question!!

I used 2 different $1 stamps from Micheals for the background and the "yes, no, maybe" note (Remember those from when we were kids!!?) To make it look like notebook paper I used my eyelet hole punch and my paper-piercing template. I also used the small cast off hearts from a Martha Stewart border punch to decorate the bottom of her dress.

The Details:
Stamp: Chanter Heartsong - Sweet November Stamps , Micheals $1 Stamps
Paper: Basic Grey, Scarlet Jewel, White (both Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Colorbox Dark Peony
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E21,E25,E27,E29
Clothes: R81,R83,R85,R89
Misc: Spellbinders Nestabilities Hearts, Stardust Stickles, Paper Piercing Template (SU), Foam Tape

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a chance to play with us!!
