A Couple of Verve Challenges

Hi! This weekend was the Verve release party and during that party they issued 5 challenges. I really wanted to do all 5 but I only got 2 done. I may try to do the other 3 later but I know I won't have them done in time to be eligible for the prizes (which is totally ok!)! The first one I did was a color challenge of Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Black and White (or similar colors.) I used the Verve set Holly Jolly.

The Details:
Stamp: Holly Jolly - Verve
Paper: Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Whisper White
Misc: Detail Black Embossing Powder, Darice Gems, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Nestabilities Rectangles

The second challenge that I got done was to make a mini pizza box. I had never done one before but the tutorial on Splitcoast was very easy to follow and it was a lot of fun! I used some older Basic Grey paper from my stash and the Verve set O Christmas Tree.

The Details:
Stamp: O Christmas Tree - Verve
Paper: Basic Grey, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Copics: R24, R27, R29,R59,YG95,YG97,Y26,B91,B93,B95
Misc: Darice Jewels, Offray Ribbon, Nestabilities Scallop Square and Label

Meet Mistletoe Snowhill!

Hi! I hope you all have been having a wonderful weekend. Why do long weekends go by so quickly?.....

Today I get to show you another new fairy by Amy (A Thousand Sheets of Paper). Her new line of stamps, Sweet November Stamps, is being carried by All That Scraps. This one is called Mistletoe Snowhill, and she and Holly Starshine will be available on Monday!! I used the Whimsical Wednesday sketch for my card. If you are not familiar with Whimsical Wednesdays - The Diedrich Dare, Jessica's (aka The Whisical Butterfly) kids create the challenge each week! I just could not resist the sketch by her son Jack this week!! I also used a LOT of sparkle on this card so I took a picture with the flash this time so more of the sparkle would show. Several of the background papers were sprayed with Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer or Silver Foil and I used my Sakura Clear Star glitter pen liberally!!

The Details:
Stamp: Mistletoe Snowhill - Sweet November Stamps through CC Designs (All That Scraps)
Paper: It's a Little Flaky (digi paper from Sweet Shoppe Designs), Almost Amethyst, Orchid Opulence - SU, PTI White
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair:BV000
Clothes and Wings: V04,V15,V06, BV01,BV02,BV04 w/B000 over them
Misc: Sakura Clear Star glitter pen, Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer and Silver Foil, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Darice Gems, Offray Ribbon

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I am just sneaking down to the computer for a few minutes while the potatoes are cooking to post a card I made with one of Amy's new Holiday fairies that will be available on Monday at All That Scraps! This is Holly Starshine! Isn't she adorable!? I LOVE these fairies!! Amy is so talented!!

I have been wondering lately if I provide enough information on the making of my cards. I always give the recipe, but unless there is something a little unusual I don't give an explanation. If you would like me to write more about them, let me know. On this card card, I used an EK Success Holly border punch (although it was called a border punch, it actually cut that strip out). I cut a white strip of cardstock slightly smaller than the border strip, held the border strip over it and marked with dots of color where the openings were. I then colored those areas with a green and red marker so that when I layered the black border piece over it the leaves showed green and the berries showed red. I also used a glitter pen to draw veins on all of the leaves. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that I used the Taylored Expressions #92 sketch!!

The Details:
Stamps: Holly Starshine - Sweet November through CC Designs (available at All That Scraps), sentiment - Verve
Paper: Bo Bunny (Holly), My Minds Eye (red and white dot), Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Garden Green - SU, PTI White
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: C3,C5,C7, 100
Clothes and Wings: YG11,YG17,G17,G19,R22,R24,R27,R29
Misc: Stickles - Burgundy and Holly, Sakura Clear Star gel pen, EK Success Border Punch, Martha Stewart Holly Punch, Darice gems

Thanks for visiting me today! Good luck tomorrow if you are facing the madness and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Rudolph and Vivi

Hello! I hope your week is going great so far! I am so excited about the four day weekend! I don't do the Black Friday shopping thing - way too stressful! But I am looking forward to a day of relaxing with my family and maybe watching a few Holiday movies.....What are you looking forward to?

I had this idea of turning the deer from the Forest Friends set by The Greeting Farm into Rudolph. I used Amy's method of altering (she does a great tutorial on Club Anya). Her method is much easier and better than what I have always done, so I think I will go to it first from now on! My method always involved a lot of tracing and cutting out and layering.....Anyway, once I had Rudolph I thought he and Vivi could be delivering packages to their friends at the North Pole.I did a little altering on Vivi too, giving her a bit more hair. I also used NO patterened paper on this so it qualifies for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge! Woo Hoo!

The Details:
Stamps: Forest Friends, Vivi - The Greeting Farm
Paper: Bermuda Bay - SU, Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, Pure Poppy, White - PTI
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Whisper White Craft
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair:E21,E25,E27,E29
Clothes and Present: R00,R20,R22,R24,R27,R29,BG10,BG11,BG13,BG15
Rudolph: E21,E25,E27,E29,R00,R20,W0,W1,W3, R27,R29
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Burgundy Stickles, Adirondack Cranberry Dimensional Pearls, Sakura Glaze Pen - Red, White Opal Liquid Pearls, Uniball Signo White Gel Pen, Swiss Dots CB Embossing Folder, Trees cut out with a Cricut Machine

A Late Viva La Verve Card!

Hi! I am so behind on everything!! This is for the Viva La Verve challenge from two weeks ago! The VLV challenges are always a sketch challenge with a twist and this weeks twist was to make it a Holiday themed card! Ok, I can do that!! I used all digital patterned papers from the Digichick. I just realized I seem to be on a pink Christmas card kick! Even the one I am working on right now for tomorrow has a lot of pink....

The Details:
Stamps: Snowflake Splendor, Christmas in the Air - Verve
Paper: Sugar Plum - Strawberry Cafe - The Digichick, Blush Red Dark - Prism
Misc: Ribbon - Offray (Red), SU (green and pink), buttons from stash

Thanks for visiting me today! I hope your week is great!!

Happy Holidays from Buttercup

Hi! I love using my favorite non-Christmas themed stamps for Holiday cards. This one is Buttercup Reedweb, designed by the Fabulous Amy and available at All That Scraps! You can get her in rubber or digi, and this is the first time ever I decided I HAD to have both (well, with all 4 of Amy's Fairies!)! I just couldn't decide if it would be better to have digi so I could re-size them and flip the images, or rubber for all of the other cool techniques you can do with ink...

I used one of the digi ones for this card. I also used my coupon at Jo-Ann's and bought a package of Sakura Glaze Pens, and as you can see I went a little crazy with the dooding!! It was a lot of fun!

The Details:
Stamps: Buttercup Reedweb - Sweet November (through All That Scraps), Sentiment - Verve
Paper: My Minds Eye (trees), Basic Grey (Pink), Real Red, Soft Sky - SU, PTI White

Candy Cane Kisses

Hi! I am here today with the third of four new fairies being released on Thursday at The Greeting Farm. This one is the Winter Fairy, but I decided to color her up as a peppermint fairy! I used the MojoMonday #113 sketch, turning it on it's side. And I don't know why, but I couldn't get the phrase "Candy Cane Kisses" out of my head while I was coloring her so I printed it out on my computer and put it on the card!

Autumn Fairy

Hi! I am thrilled to get to show you another one of the fabulous Fairies that will be available at The Greeting Farm on Thursday! This one is the Autumn Fairy and I was inspired by her name when choosing my papers and her coloring, but of course she could be colored any way at all!! And I decided to give her a more subtle sparkle than yesterday's Spring Fairy, so her wings and dress are covered with a Clear Spica Glitter pen, which never photographs well but looks very shimmery in real life!

The Details:
Stamp: Autumn Fairy (digi) - The Greeting Farm
Paper: Bo Bunny, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom - SU, PTI White
Copics:

Cracked Glass Mittens

Hi! I feel like it's been forever since I posted! Not that long, I know....I am way behind on doing some of the challenges that I like to participate in - this one is for last weeks Viva la Verve sketch with a twist. The twist this time was to use the cracked glass technique. I thought I had my card all finished and ready to post last night and then I realized I forgot the cracked glass part so I had to take it apart and add that! I used a digi image that Verve offered free for a bit. I drew a pattern onto the mittens because I also knit and I LOVE a patterned mitten (I am adding a couple of pictures of mittens I have knit, after the card!)

The Details:
Stamp: Winter Mittens digi - Verve
Paper: Imaginisce, Real Red, Chocolate Chip - SU, PTI White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Copics: R35,R37,R39,YG03,YG25,YG17,C0,C1
Misc: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Ultra Thick Embossing Powder, Oval and Oval Scallop Nestabilities, Sakura White gel pen, JoAnn Craft Essentials Ribbon

This is the first pair of mittens I made and I still wear them:

This is my favorite pair that I made:

Happy Cullen Christmas (and some Awards)

Hi! Have you ever been really excited about a card you wanted to make, and everything went the way you wanted, and yet you still didn't end up with the result you wanted? That's kind of how I feel about this card (I am NOT whining, really!) I LOVE the digi's, I was So pleased with how the coloring turned out, and then somehow.....I don't know, I think maybe it's because I tried to fit so many of them on one card that it left very little room to get across my Christmas card theme. My DH didn't think it looked like a Christmas card at all when I first finished so I added the ribbon/bow and holly to the center....I am not happy with the ribbon, but as everything was attached with a glue dot, it started ripping the paper when I tried to take it off, so it is staying!! Anyway, I do love how the "Cullens" look! (And they have a lovely subtle sparkle in real life, thanks to a clear Spica pen! I wish it was easier to get that to photograph!)

I love seeing what everyone has created and I usually try to leave comments, but for whatever reason when I sometimes don't, I appreciate you all so much!

This last one came to me from Jodi (Stamping a Latte) and you could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw that! I have been checking out Jodi's creations since before I knew how to "follow" someone's blog! She is amazing!! Here is the explanation that came with it:

This award is bestowed onto blogs that are exceedingly charming. These bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes cut, even more friendships are propagated. When you receive this award, you have to pass it on to six bloggers, so here goes! I chose these ladies as I am uber inspired by them and am glad to have become friends with them through blogging!

So I would like to pass this one on to:

1-Amy
2-Gabby
3-Kelly
4-Mary
5-Randi
6-Donna

Thank you all for the wonderful inspiration!!

Hiya!! Well, after playing with Amy's wonderful new digi images over the past few days I was really in a digi mood so I decided I would make it a theme this week. For today's card I used Pink Cat Studios's Lily Rides a Polar Bear. I printed the image twice and cut out the bears head with Lily's hands attached and popped them up with foam tape. Other than that, it's pretty simple - one piece of DP and 3 border punches, lots of sparkle and some liquid applique (it's just too much fun!!)
The Details:
Stamps: Lily Rides a Polar Bear - Pink Cat Studio digi, Sentiment - Christmas in the Air - Verve
Paper : Cosmo Cricket, Handsome Hunter - SU, Island Mist Light - Prism, PTI White

Cookies for Santa

Hi! How are you today? I am great - I had such a fun weekend stamping! I didn't get anything else useful done, but it was still a wonderful weekend! And winter has finally decided to show up - there are great big fat snowflakes falling outside as I type this!!

Today I get to show you the last of the new digi's that Amy has coming out (available today at All That Scraps!) This one is called Cookie Break Santa. I CASED this (way more than I originally intended to) from Amy's card HERE. I remembered loving how she used the cookies from The Greeting Farm's Merry Tags on her card and I thought they would be so cute with her Santa. I didn't go back and look at her card so I didn't realize I had used a very similar layout, too!
The Details:
Stamps: Cookie Break Santa - Sweet November (Through All That Scraps), Merry Tags - The Greeting Farm
Paper: DCWV, Real Red - SU, PTI White
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20

Cookies: E50,E53,R22,R24,R27,G02,G05,G09, B21w/B000 over it, B24
Misc: Liquid Applique, Gold Pen, Offray Ribbon, Crystal Effects

Thank you so much for visiting me today!! I have decided I am going to play with digi images all this week - please stop back by and tell me what you think!

A Few More Adorable Digi's by Amy!

Hiya!! I've got a couple more cards to show you with some of the digi's that Amy has coming out tomorrow (available at All That Scraps). These little guys are just so sweet, and so much fun to color and play with! On a few of my previous cards I doodled patterns into the elf's clothes, but today the only "extra" I added was a few white polka dots to his pants. I also used Mercy's Sketch # 46.

The Details:
Stamp: Buttons the Elf - Sweet November (digi) through All That Scraps
Paper: DCWV, Garden Green, Certainly Celery - SU, Pure Poppy, White - PTI
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E00,R20
Clothes: YG17,YG67,G29,YG11,G12,R24,R27,R29
Bear: W0,W1,R20
Misc: SU Ribbon, Oval and Scallop Oval Nestabilities, CB Embossing Folder, Basic Grey Brads, White Sakura gel pen

My second card uses a Super Sweet trio of Angel Babies. I am not sure if they are going to be a set or sold separately.... I also used Spellbinders Fancy Tags die - my sentiment was bigger than the space on the die so I cut it out separately, then cut the tag apart and attached the "fancy" parts to the back of the sentiment panel.

The Details:
Stamps: Angel Babies - Eva, Mia and Sophie - Sweet November through All That Scraps, Sentiment - Verve
Paper: DCWV, Night of Navy, Brocade Blue - SU, PTI White
Copics:

More Sweeeet Digi's

Hi! Happy Weekend! I don't usually blog on the weekend (I'm usually trying to stamp as much as possible, though!) but Amy's new Digi's are coming out on Monday at All That Scraps, and I wanted a chance to play with a few more of them and show them to you before then!

For my first card I used the beautiful Angel Celeste.

The Details:
Stamps: Angel Celeste - Sweet November Digi (through All That Scraps), Sentiment - Verve
Paper: Basic Grey, PTI White
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E50,E53,E55
Dress: R22,R24,R27,R29,R39
Wings: B000
Misc: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Bling Swirl (?) from stash
, Clear Spica glitter pen (on dress)

For my second card I used this adorable Bing-a-Ling Elf! I just LOVE the expression on his face and I had to put him on a stack of presents trying to get that star on top of the tree! The tree and presents are hand drawn, and I also decorated his hat and gave him stripes on his leggings!

The Details:
Stamp: Bing-a-Ling - Sweet November Digi (through All That Scraps)
Paper: My Minds Eye, PTI White
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Clothes: R81,R83,R85,YR04,YR07,YR09,YG00,YG03,YG17,BG10,BG11,BG13
Misc: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Darice Gems

I am enjoying these Digi's so much, I think I may make next week an entirely Digi image week. I definitely love my rubber, but there are some really cute digi's (and you can't beat that instant gratification thing)!!

Well, thanks for visiting me! I hope you are enjoying the digi's and I hope you have a great weekend!!

Hi! Do you all know about the new Fairy stamps that Amy (A Thousand Sheets of Paper) has for sale at All That Scraps? Well, she is going to have some Digi images available on Monday, too! They are just SO sweet and I am such a lucky girl to get to play with them a little early!! The one I used for my card today is Jolly Elf! I drew in a little pattern on his hat because I knit and I love a Fair Isle pattern! I also drew the "O" and the "Y" to spell out Joy because that is what his candy cane swing made me think of!

The Details:
Stamp: Jolly Elf - Sweet November Digi Image (available through All That Scraps)

Go Ask Alice

Almost 2 weeks ago (wow, it really doesn't seem that long ago) Jessica (AKA The Whimsical Butterfly) posted a card that I TOTALLY fell in love with and the story that went with it had me crying. Her post is HERE. I could NOT stop thinking about that card, and truthfully I wanted to copy everything about it! I thought a lot about things I could change so that mine wasn't a complete COPY but was instead inspired by hers (although I HAD to use the fabulous Inktegrity "Blackberry" caterpillar image and the Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper!) The mushrooms may look familiar to you fellow Greeting Farm fans - I drew the mushrooms from the Wonderland set larger so my Caterpillar could sit on them.

The Details:
Stamps: Signature, Hello Go Round - The Greeting Farm, Blackberry - Inktegrity
Paper: Cosmo Cricket - Earth Love, Chocolate Chip, PTI White
Copics:
Alice: Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20,R22
Hair: E50,E53,E55
Dress: BG72,BG75,C0,C1,C5,C7
Mushroom: E43,E44,E47,E49
Caterpillar: YR21,YR23,YR14,R20,BG72,BG75
Misc: Dew Drops

Thanks so much for visiting me today! And thanks to everyone who sent well wishes my way yesterday for my headache! That was so sweet!

Wolf Girl!

Hi! I am going to make this a very quick post because I have a headache and I am going to bed to hopefully get rid of it...but I wanted to show you this card I made yesterday using Mercy's Farm Fresh Friday sketch challenge. (I turned it on it's side and replaced the bow with large eyelets.) It pleases me so much! Don't you just love it when that happens?!

Viva La Verve 1,2,3 Math Twist

Hi! I hope everyone had a great weekend and a fun Halloween if you celebrate it! On Friday my DD had a "Fall Bash" as she likes to call it. It was fun and went much faster than I expected. The kids only got to do about half the games I had planned, but I think they all had a good time. I was suprised that the biggest hit was bobbing for apples - I really didn't want them to do it because of the mess if done indoors and the cold if done outdoors (I am in Alaska!). Plus I thought it was kind of old fashioned and didn't think the kids would care about getting an apple, but my DD insisted and she was right! I have never seen so much laughing and excitement over getting an apple!

I did two cards today for the Viva La Verve November week 1 Sketch With a Twist. The twist was a 1-2-3 math twist! 1-Embellishment, 2- Cardstock colors, 3-stamps. My two cards are kind of variations of each other. When I finished the first one it didn't feel quite right to me , so I did the second. I think I am happier with the first one now, though!
