Moon Marsh Mermaid

Hello! I just have a quick post today, with a card I made a little while back. It was a "thank you' for a wonderful person, and hopefully she has received it now and doesn't mind me posting it!! I used Elaine Cox's Moon Marsh Mermaid and tried to color her to match my Bella Blvd papers. Some of the brighter turquoise in the paper got covered up when I put the image on the card so it looks a little out of place in my coloring...

The Details:
Stamp: Moon Marsh Mermaid - Elaine Cox (Plate 66) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Bella Blvd, Temp[ting Turquoise (SU), White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20, BG11,BG49
Hair: BG11,BG32,BG34 w/W0 and W1 over
Tail: Y06,Y15,Y08,RV21,RV23,RV25,RV29
Background: YG21,YG25,YG17 all w/RV10 over,B01,B02,B04
Frog: YG03,YG95,YG97 all w.RV10 over
Misc: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Stardust Stickles
, Crystal Effects (on the Frog)

I'll be back tomorrow as part of the special Sweet November Birthday Blog Hop!

Two Lil' Halloween Cards

Hello! I thought I would bring you a couple of last minute Halloween themed cards today! For the first card I used Samantha Rawlings sweet Lil' Witch. I made a frame around her using four fancy corners cut with a Sizzix die and I tried to "connect" them on the long sides using tiny black gems. It is a little more crooked than I had hoped....but I still like the original idea!

The Details:
Stamp: Samantha Rawlings Lil' Witch - (sheet 2, Plate 62) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: K&Co (I think), Black and White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: E000, E00,E11,R00,R20
hair: YG21,YG23,YG25,YG17
Clothes:V04,V06,V17,C5,C7,C9
Pumpklin and Car: Y15,Y17,YR16,YR18
Misc: Sizzix Corner die, Spellbinders Label Die, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Darice Gems

For my second card I used Elaine Cox's Little Witch Cat. I colored the image with Copics and added a little Diamond Stickles around the moon and a little Crystal Effects to the kitty's eyes. I am not sure I really love how that turned out, but it is good to try something new sometimes, right?

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Little Witch Cat (Sheet 9, Plate 59) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Bo Bunny, Black and White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Cat: W5,W7,W8,W10
Hat: V04,V06,V17,Y06
Background: BG32,BG34,BG16 all w/W1 over, YG03,YG25,YG17,Y000,Y00
Misc: Martha Stewart Web Border Punch, Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Diamond Stickles

Happy Halloween!

New Sweet Pea Stamps!

Hello! I get to show you a sneak peek of a new Elaine Cox image that will be available at Sweet Pea Stamps soon! This is Katie and she is a slightly different style than a lot of the other Elaine Cox images Sweet Pea has carried. I love her cute, younger images, but I also think this new more mature style is very beautiful. I may have covered some of it up with my coloring, but this image is VERY detailed with a lot of gorgeous subtle shading to help guide you when coloring it.

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Katie (available soon from Sweet Pea Stamps)
Paper: Bo Bunny, Early Esspresso (SU), White (Copic XPress)
Copics:
Skin: E000,E00,E11,R00,R20

Hello! It is getting close to Halloween and that definitely has me in the mood to make cards with cute little witches and adorable kitties!! These two are both by Elaine Cox.

This first one is called Little Stars Witch and is from Plate #59. I colored the whole image with Copics and then I went over the moon and the sky with Twinkling H2O watercolors. I used a Cuttlebug die (cut out twice and cut in half) for the photo corners and an EK Success edge punch to cut the black piece that separates the two panels.

This image is called Playing With Stars and is from Plate #46. Again, I colored the image with Copic markers and then went over the background with Twinkling H2O watercolors. I used Diamond Stickles for some sparkle on the stars, the Kitty wings and the photo corners.

Starry Halloween

This is my second post today - please scroll down for my Sweet November Sneak Peek!

Hello! Today I have made a card with another of Elaine Cox's beautiful Halloween witches. This one is called Starry Halloween. It, along with Twilight Halloween is a little bigger than the usual Sweet Pea stamps (but not too big - this is still a 6.25 x 4.5 card).

For Starry Halloween I decided to make the witch green and tried to match her to my paper. She is also colored with Copics, but I did use Twinkling H2O watercolors on the moon to make it shimmer and a little Clear Stardust Sakura gel pen on the twinkling stars!

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Starry Halloween from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: We R Memory Keepers, Garden Green card stock (SU) Black and White card stock (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: G20,G21,G24 all w YG11 over it

Twilight Halloween

Hello! Happy Friday!! Are you all looking forward to the weekend as much as I am? I don't have any plans or anything......Just lazy days (hopefully!) sleeping in and making cards. Maybe a little housecleaning (ugh!)

Today I have made a card with one of the new Elaine Cox images called Twilight Halloween! This one, and her other new image called Starry Halloween are so beautiful to me! I could not wait until they arrived in my mail box! Just so you know, they are a little bigger than most of the Sweet Pea images. For reference, my card is 6.25 x 4.5 inches. I have colored it in black and white and then added some sparkle with a Clear Stardust Sakura gel pen.

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Twilight Halloween from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: The Paper Company (Black Glitter), Creative Imaginations (Red), and White card stock (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Little Seahorses and a Contest

Hi! Before I get to my card I want to tell you that Sweet Pea is having a fun contest where you can win an entire sheet of Sweet Pea rubber!!! All you have to do is match up the baby pictures of the DT with our adult pictures (and you can see the pictures and get all of the details HERE on the blog). I admit it would be a little tough for me, but why not give it a try (and you can laugh a little at the pictures in the process!!)

For my card today I was determined to do a little more with the background than I have been lately. Funny thing is I had picked a DP with waves that I was excited about using with this underwater beauty and I pretty much covered it all up! I used my scalloped square Nestabilities for the piece under the main image and a Sizzix photo corner die for the corner pieces. They are both covered in stickles and then I added some gems to the corner pieces. The main image is colored with my Copics and the background is colored with Twinkling H2O watercolors.

The Details:
Stamp: Little Seahorses (Elaine Cox Plate 48) - from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Bo Bunny, Papaya Puree Dk, Island Mist Light (Prism), White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20,R02,R05
Hair: E50,E53,E55,BG45,BG49,BG72,BG75
Tail: YR15,YR18
Seahorses: YR21,YR23,YR24
Misc: Twinkling H2o's, Scalloped Square Nestabilities, Sizzix Photo Corner die, Stardust Stickles, Darice gems, Taylors Tiny Twinkles, Sakura Clear Stardust pen.

My Hint for the Guess the Baby Pic contest: I liked to wear red even then!

Little Black Unicorn in White

Hi! I have to say I really love Elaine Cox's images and this one, called Little Black Unicorn had me giddy with excitement when it was previewed to the DT a while back. Then it arrived when I was getting ready to go on vacation and I wasn't able to use it right away like I wanted. I am so glad I finally got to play with it! I colored it with my Copics and added some glitter in the form of Stickles to the Unicorn body and the outside edges of the picture (after I inked them up!). The ribbon was a white silk ribbon that I colored to match using my Copics.

Magical Springtime

Hello! I have made a card today with one of the images by Elaine Cox called Magical Springtime (sheet 7, Plate 52). This is one of the first times EVER that I have colored an image without picking my paper first! (Can you believe it! I am such a chicken!) When I looked at this stamp I got this image in my head of this rainbow hair and everything else being (mostly) black and white so I didn't even think about the paper, which did make it pretty hard when it was time to pick that out! Her wings have Stardust Stickles on them for some sparkle, and I used a clear Spica glitter pen on her eyes for a more subtle sparkle.

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Magical Springtime (sheet 7, Plate 52), sentiment from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection, sheet 2, Plate 21) - both from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Making Memories DP, Whisper White, Basic Black (SU), White for image (Paper Trey Ink)

New Elaine Cox

Hi! There is a new set of Elaine Cox stamps coming out at Sweet Pea Stamps! They are on sale through the 14th and will begin shipping on the 17th. This is the whole set, so you can see the other adorable images:

This card is one of those cases where I had an idea and it didn't exactly go the way I had planned or pictured it. I love the stamp, and I am definitely going to play with it some more to see if I can make my card closer to what I had in mind! To start with, if I use the dew drops again, I think I will try to put them on in a pattern. I was going for random, but it just kind of looks sloppy to me now!

The Details:
Stamp: from Elaine Cox's sheet 5 Plate 46 - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Imaginisce, Nautical Blue Dark and Medium (Prism), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Tea Party!

Hello! As soon as I saw the Alice Sentiments I knew I wanted to play around with them to make background papers! For this card I first colored my main image Alice Mad Tea Party from Elaine Cox's Alice Series (sheet 2, plate 35). I then rubbed inks that matched the main colors in my image on a sheet of white cardstock. I randomly stamped the sentiments in Versamark ink, embossed in clear, then rubbed black ink all over. I really like the way the random colors appear, although I do wish I had spread the words out a bit more....

The Details:
Stamps: Alice Sentiments (Plate 37), Elaine Cox Alice Mad Tea Party (sheet 2, Plate 35) both from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Orchid Opulence (SU) Whisper White (SU), White for image (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Basic Black (SU), Misc Dew Drops Versamagic colors (sorry I forgot to write them down as I was working)
Copics:

Alice in a Field of Mushrooms

Hello! Did you enjoy the Hop yesterday? I am so excited about the new images coming out at Sweet Pea Stamps! While I wait for the rest of mine to arrive, I thought I would play with Alice again and use her a little differently. This time I cut her out of her background (I also wiped away the ink form her hand and the bottom of her dress where the table legs cross it before I stamped her so I could draw a teacup in her hand.) I drew some mushroom cap shapes on the DP I wanted to use, cut those out, then drew some stems on white paper and colored them with my Copics. The "Drink Me" is from the Alice Sentiments set.

I was inspired to make this card from the challenge over at the Oh Alice challenge blog. It was to be inspired by this makeup case:
I was inspired by the mushrooms and Alice walking in the middle of them.

The Details:
Stamps: Elaine Cox Alice Drink Me (sheet 2, Plate 35 ), Alice Sentiments (Plate 37) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Fancy Pants Designs, Razzelberry Dark (Prism), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Distress Ink
