A Few Things From Earlier This Week

Hi ! I hope you don't mind - you may have seen the cards I am posting today if you looked on The Greeting Farm gallery this week. I have not made anything new in the past 2 days, but I had not put these on my blog.....Do you want to know what I have been doing instead of stamping? Re-organizing my cardstock!! I did have my cardstock separated by brand - mostly SU, and more recently PTI and Prism. I just ordered a bunch of Prism from All That Scraps and when it arrived I decided to re-organize by color, mixing all of the brands together.... Anyway, I really hope I can stamp a lot this weekend!

This first card was for a challenge last week at The Greeting Farm to make a sunshine-y card to celebrate Marie and Jess's going to CHA in sunny California! I am so excited - it was chosen as the winning entry!

TGF CHA Relay #1 and #2!

The Greeting Farm has the best, most fun contest going on right now! Yesterday they gave away a free digi on the blog and as long as you finished and uploaded a card with it (by the deadline) you got the next digi. That will continue until the end of the week! So, all you have to do to "win" the next digi is to make a card! I can do that! These are my first two cards using the first two digi's!I created a little underwater scene for MerIan using some Cosmo Cricket paper that I fell in love with and then never used! The seaweed is punched using a Martha Stewart oak leaf (or is it maple?) punch. The sea horses and the crab are also Martha Stewart punches. I colored them with my Copics and then ran them through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Sweet November Peek #3 - Ginger!

Hiya!! If you are a follower of Amy's (the creator of the Sweet November line) you may have seen this beautiful Ginger Fairy a while back when she was "just a drawing" that Amy had made into a lovely card. If you are anything like me, you immediately wanted her made into rubber - and now she is!!! YAY! (She will be available on the 1st at All That Scraps.)

I wanted her wings to be translucent so I stamped them on vellum, cut them out and replaced the original wings with them. I added some green stickles to them for sparkle. For the sentiment I covered some chipboard letters from my stash with some DP from Basic Grey's Origin line, then sanded the edges.

Dark Royalty in Pink and Green

Hello! I have made a card today using the gorgeous Dark Royalty from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (Sheet 2 Plate 21). I colored her with Copic markers, then cut her out with a Nestabilities circle die. I added tiny jewels to each of the scallops behind her. I usually do not use a sentiment on the front of my card because I often make cards not knowing who or what they are for, and I can always add the sentiment to the inside later. Because of that I felt something was missing from the front of this card so I stamped the image a few extra times and cut the lilies out and made a little flower bed behind the ribbon.

Romeo and Juliet

Hi! Caz issued a challenge for Monday Mania at Club Anya to use Anya and Ian as a couple (I think there was supposed to be masking involved, so I kind of cheated by cutting my images out instead of masking!) and I decided to draw them entirely new outfits and make them Romeo and Juliet. When I do this much altering I sort of treat it like paper dolls - I stamp the original image and cut it out (cutting away any extra's I don't want to use like Miss Rain's umbrella) then I trace around the cut-out with pencil and draw the new clothes. Because it's all in pencil there is no pressure - just keep playing until you are happy! Then trace those lines with a Copic multiliner (or whatever pen will suit your coloring medium), color, cut out and glue over the first cut out that you used to trace (and you have colored the skin and hair on). In this case I actually re-drew Ian's arm so they could hold hands, so I just cut away the one on the original before I glued the new clothes on top!

Dark Sirene in Browns

Hi! I thought I would make a very quick post tonight to show you this card I made with Dark Sirene from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art collection (sheet 4 Plate 24). It is a very simple layout using just rectangles and some punched photo corners. There is some copper glitter in her hair that adds a nice sparkle in real life, but I took 6 different pictures and I couldn't get it to show up well in any of them!

Miss Anya Rocks!

Hiya! First, I have to apologize to any Green Bay Packers fans out there - I am responsible for the Cardinals win yesterday (hee hee)! You see, I discovered that when their games are aired in my area and I color with my Copics while watching the game I bring them luck and they play well! So, YAY for their win yesterday! This is the card I was working on for the first half of the game:

I used the sketch from Club Anya's Sketchy Saturday to make Miss Anya a Rocker! She has the body of the Miss Anya Love with the nifty boots (and I made them red patent leather with some Chrystal Effects), the face and right arm of the seated Miss Anya Love (I erased the outside edges of her hair and her ponytail using baby wipes and then redrew in her razor cut shag!) and the guitar and left hand of Rockstar Anya. When I do this much altering I usually stamp all of the images, color them, then cut them apart and layer them the way I want them.

Hi! Okay, my post has nothing to do with Cinderella. I just couldn't get that song to stop playing in my head (please make it stop!!) I didn't make it start in yours now, too, did I? Sorry, Amy has me singing with my posts now!!

This is one of Amy's Sweet November fairies - Fidget Goblinspider. Right now, I think I love her the best of the Sweet November girls (Sshh, don't tell the others!!) My card is fairly simple, but it is one of those times where it came out exactly like I had imagined and hoped and I am so tickled!! I really haven't used kraft paper much, but I think I will more often now! I just love it with the brown and red. Wow, I just realized there is no DP! I never do that!!

Late New Year's Challenge Cards

So, The Greeting Farm issued 12 challenges on New Year's Day and I had such big plans to do them all...Well, I managed to do 2 of them. And then I didn't get pictures taken of them in time to upload and enter the contest! Oh, Well, I had a lot of fun making them, which is why I do this card making thing anyway!

The first one is for Melyssa's Tag challenge. If you come here very often you might remember me talking about trying to use some of the much loved paper that I have been scared to use? Well, these tags came with the pack of Basic Grey Lilly Kate line. All of the tags were still there, almost all of the paper is whole...I am really working on this!! I turned Dress Me Anya into an Elf princess by using Amy's method of altering to wipe away a little section and draw some pointy ears. (Amy's tutorial is HERE.)

The other challenge card that I got done was Kadie's Sew Satisfying challenge - to use sewing on your card. The challenge actually said to use sewing in a " fun and/or surprising way" which really threw me, but then I decided I have never hand sewn on felt before (and now we can all see that my hand sewing skills are sadly lacking!) I punched the shapes using my Spellbinders flower dies - they did not always go all of the way through, even with a shim. Most only needed a few little snips with the scissors to finish them up, though.

Hi! Well the Holiday break is over...it's back to school for the kiddo and back to work for me...and time to start thinking about Valentine's Day cards, right!!? Hee Hee!! I know, I just put down the Christmas stamps! But now I'm all in the mood for hearts and kisses!! When I last inked up Chanter Heartsong I used her to make a "Thank You" card but this time I decided to make a Valentine's Day card with her.

The Last 3 Days of Christmas!

Hello! I hope your weekend is going great so far! Have you seen all of the challenges going on at The Greeting Farm and Club Anya and Friends? I am absolutely giddy! I have just finished up my last card for the 12 Days of Christmas challenge, so I have #10, #11, and #12 to show you today!! Then I am off to work on some of the challenges from yesterday. I don't know that I will be able to get them all done, but I am going to have fun trying!

For #10 I reached back into my stash for this paper. This is some of my very favorite paper ever - it was the first paper that I absolutely obsessed about finding. When I first saw pieces of it online I couldn't stop thinking about it. Then I got it and was scared to do anything with it! I have almost every sheet still intact but I am determined to start using it (and some other papers that I loved too much to cut - it is a sickness, I tell you!) The "Thank You" panel was created by stamping sentiments form the Verve set Celebration of Thanks.
