Alice in a Field of Mushrooms

Hello! Did you enjoy the Hop yesterday? I am so excited about the new images coming out at Sweet Pea Stamps! While I wait for the rest of mine to arrive, I thought I would play with Alice again and use her a little differently. This time I cut her out of her background (I also wiped away the ink form her hand and the bottom of her dress where the table legs cross it before I stamped her so I could draw a teacup in her hand.) I drew some mushroom cap shapes on the DP I wanted to use, cut those out, then drew some stems on white paper and colored them with my Copics. The "Drink Me" is from the Alice Sentiments set.

I was inspired to make this card from the challenge over at the Oh Alice challenge blog. It was to be inspired by this makeup case:
I was inspired by the mushrooms and Alice walking in the middle of them.

ATS Challenge - Newspaper

Hello! Happy Wednesday! Since it is Wednesday, that means there is a new challenge at the All That Scraps Challenge blog. Today's challenge is to use newspaper or a book in your card. Now, I don't know about you, but I have a HUGE attachment to books. I love the idea of an electronic reader (like the Kindle or something) but I can't see it replacing the feel of a book in my hand, or the smell of a real book (is that weird?). Anyway, because of that I couldn't bear to tear out a page of a book, even one I didn't like so I went with newspaper! To dress it up a bit I sprayed it several times with Shimmerz Spritz, then inked the edges up, and finally sewed on it. I made the flower by cutting 4 different sized of circles from the Spritzed newpaper. I cut about halfway through the circle and then overlapped the cut edges, making a slight cone, then layered my "cones". A brad holds them together and to the page!

The Details:
Stamp: from CC Designs Spring Stamp Kit (All That Scraps), Sentiment - Amy R Thank You Sentiments (ATS)
Paper: Newspaper, Nautical Blue Medium and Dark (Prism), Birchtone Dark (Prism), Very Vanilla (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E21,E25,E27,E29,E49

Flowers: E50,E53,E55,B93,B95,B97

Puppet Angel in the Circus

Hello! I used a new image from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection called Puppet Angel in the Circus on my card today. (If you are a Sweet Pea Stamps fan be sure to stop back by on Thursday for our Blog Hop! We will have some sneak peeks of some really cute upcoming releases!) For this card, I used a fence border punch turned upside down on top of another punch for a decorative detail in the background. I think this is a good way to get my money's worth out of my punches!

The Details:
Stamp: Puppet Angel in the Circus - ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (Sweet Pea Stamps)
Paper: Making Memories, Blush Red Dark, Vibrant Pink, Black (all Prism), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: E50,E53,E55,R81
Hair: E00,E08,,E19,E18
Clothes and Wings: Y06,Y15,Y08,R24,R29,R39,R83,R85, both w/RV13 over them, R81, C5,C7,C9

A Curious Case

I made this card for The Greeting Farms Case of the Curious Card. The adorable card that we are case-ing this week was made by Marie, the creator of Anya and Ian and the other fabulous TGF stamps.

I did a little altering, giving Ruby Stella's head. Before I glued the head on I glued down the two thin pieces of the "measuring tape" that I had drawn and cut out. I also drew a pair of scissors in her hand. For the dress on the dress form I cut out the dress from the discarded "Stella" body and traced it. I couldn't use it as it was stamped because it had Stella's arms on it! Once it was traced I only had a few details to add - the heart at the neckline and the two small parts at the bottom of hte dress that are flipped up! Then I added the stand and neck of the dress form.

The Details:
Stamps: Ruby, Stella (The Greeting Farm) Sentiment (Stamping Bella)
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Tangeringe Tango (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00, E00,E11,R20
Hair: C3,C5,C7,C9,100
Clothes: YR00,YR04,YR07,YR09,G20,G21,G24,BG11,BG34,BG13
Dress and Form: E50,E53,E55,YR00,YR04,YR07,YR09,R27,R39
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Button (From stash), Foam Tape, Sewing Machine

Blue Spring Luna

Hello! Today I have made a card using Spring Luna from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (sheet 8, plate 30). I have decided to be more playful with the skin colors, which is hard for me because I am pretty comfortable (maybe too comfortable!) with my usual skin coloring. I am very happy with how it turned out though! You should try doing something different than you are used to. If it turns out terrible then what have you really lost besides a little time, and it may turn out wonderful!

The Details:
Stamp: Spring Luna (ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection - sheet 8, plate 30) from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: DCWV, Marigold Morning (retired SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: B91,B93,V000,BG000 over all
Hair: V000,V01,V04,V15,B63,BG000
Tail:V04,V15,V06.B63
Background:Y21,YR21,YR23
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Purple and Starry Night Stickles, Scallop Edge Punch (SU), Sakura Glaze Pen

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Bunny Wild Thing

Hiya! How are you today!? I'm pretty good! I am so happy that I got a chance to make this card! I have had this idea since I first got my "Bunny" Sweet November stamps! I know they are adorable Bunnies, but there was something about them that reminded me of Max from Where the Wild Things Are and so I had to do a little altering and combine them with my favorite Taylored Expressions set The Places You'll Go. I also used the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #100 for the layout!

So, to make Max I used Baby Bunnies Bunny and wiped away the sweet little Bunny with a baby wipe after inking up the stamp. I also wiped away most of the ears and the tips of the feet. I drew in very simple pointy ears and some claws on the end of the feet. I used the arm from Baby Bunnies Daffodil, wiping the ink off the hand and drawing in claws once it was stamped. I list my Copic colors below, but I wanted to point out that that my colors in the ocean scene were way too bright when I first finished so I tried to tone them down with a W0 and W1 marker. When that didn't tone it down enough I went over most of the picture with E43 I was pretty happy with that. I chose E43 because it was similar to the golden brown in the DP.

The Details:
Stamp: Baby Bunnies Bunny, Baby Bunnies Daffodil (Sweet November Stamps through All That Scraps) , The Places You'll Go (Taylored Expresssions)
Paper: Basic Grey, Chocolate Chip (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Antique Distress Ink
Copics:
Max:R00,E00,E11,R20, E44,E47,E49,B91,W0
Trees and Grass: YG21,YG23,YG25 all w/E43 over them, E44,E47,R00,R02 both w/E43 over them
Sky and Water: B93, B95 w/W0 and W1 over them
Misc: Nestabilities Circles, Brads (Basic Grey), Foam Tape
