Monday Mania ABC

Hi! How are you today? Pretty good here after a lovely weekend! My family and I went to see How to Train Your Dragon and it was a fun, sweet movie! Definitely one we will want to buy when it comes out! The main dragon reminded me and my DD of our kitty, Zora. Speaking of my DD - I decided the other day that she really needed some bookmarks. This was really brought home to me yesterday when I walked into the kitchen and saw her book on the counter. I picked it up to bring it to her and a steak knife fell out and hit me in the foot! She had apparently walked into the kitchen reading her book and when she had to set it down for something she picked up the nearest thing to mark her place! So, when I found out that the Club Anya Monday Mania challenge today was to make anything but a card, I decided to make her a couple of bookmarks with Oliver and Amelia!

Corriander

Hello! I have another sneak peak to show you today! This lovely lady is Coriander. To me she seems a little shy and thoughtful, but is a loyal and fierce friend!

I wanted to have Coriander swinging as she was contemplating, so I used the Sugarplums Swing stamp (also available at All That Scraps). The rope tying the swing to the tree was a little short for Coriander, so I stamped the image, colored it, and cut it out, leaving behind the "rope". Then I spread the tree and the seat a little further apart before I glued them to my background paper and used a ruler to redraw the connecting "rope". You might have noticed the swing is not straight up and down, but I don't think it really matters. It kind of looks like it might actually be swinging that way! I also paper pieced her dress and paper pieced her wings with vellum (I am loving that look with the beautiful wings on Amy's Spice Fairies!)

The Details:
Stamps: Coriander (Sweet November), Amy R Spring Sentiments, Sugarplums Swing - all from All That Scraps
Paper: My Minds Eye, Vellum, Chocolate Chip (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: YR00,YR04,YR07,YR09,E08,E09
Dress: YG95

Be sure to check out Coriander's debut at Maire and Amy's blogs, if you haven't already!

I will have one last Sweet November Sneak Peek tomorrow (and all of these sweeties will be available on the 7th at All That Scraps!)

Tea Party!

Hello! As soon as I saw the Alice Sentiments I knew I wanted to play around with them to make background papers! For this card I first colored my main image Alice Mad Tea Party from Elaine Cox's Alice Series (sheet 2, plate 35). I then rubbed inks that matched the main colors in my image on a sheet of white cardstock. I randomly stamped the sentiments in Versamark ink, embossed in clear, then rubbed black ink all over. I really like the way the random colors appear, although I do wish I had spread the words out a bit more....

The Details:
Stamps: Alice Sentiments (Plate 37), Elaine Cox Alice Mad Tea Party (sheet 2, Plate 35) both from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Orchid Opulence (SU) Whisper White (SU), White for image (Paper Trey Ink)
