Make a Scene at Club Anya

Hello! (Warning - totally off of the topic of cards!) Sorry I am late putting up my post - I was all ready to come down to the computer and write it up when I discovered my 2 year old refrigerator wasn't working! So I have spent the evening moving what I could to the small freezer in the garage and calling the extended warranty company (who I have to call back tomorrow because although they take calls 24 hours a day, I guess they figured late Sunday night was the best time to do updates on their computer systems so they couldn't schedule service for me!) I'm sure it will all be fine and I am lucky I got the warranty, it was just not the way I wanted to spend the evening!

On to fun stuff now! This week for Monday Mania at Club Anya Jenny has challenged us to create a scene with our cards! This is my very favorite kind of card to make and to see! Yeah Jenny! I am getting all in the Halloween spirit lately and am really loving seeing lots of cute witches on cards so I decided to turn Nurse Anya into a sweet little witch, brewing her favorite potion up on her front lawn. The house, tree and cauldron all came from the October 31st Cricut cartridge (I was so happy to find it at JoAnn's a week or so ago and it was on sale!) I covered Nurse Anya's hat with a witch hat from a retired Greeting Farm set called Spooktacular. I also stamped her a second time just to use the arms and placed them around the pot.
The Details:
Stamp: Nurse Anya, Spooktacular - The Greeting Farm, sentiment from Taylored Expressions
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Lovely Lilac, Going Gray, Elegant Eggplant (SU), Smokey Shadow, White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20, BV00,.BV01
Hair: Y35,Y17,Y38,YR04,YR07
Clothes: C5,C7,C9,YG03 w/RV00 over, YG95,Y23,Y26
Misc: Cricut Cartridge October 31, Liquid Pearls, Tim Holtz Embossing Folder, Stardust Stickles

I really hope you will get a chance to join us in the Monday Mania challenge at Club Anya this week! This is the last of the Monday Mania challenges - but stay tuned! Jess has something fun in store for us starting next month!!

Shake, Rattle and Roll!

Hello! Happy Monday! Monday Mania at Club Anya is brought to us this week by Joy and she wants us to try our hands at Shaker Cards. I decided to use this super cool digi CC Jack from The Greeting Farm to make a Rock-n-Roll themed shaker card.

The items inside the shaker (a guitar, pick, and several music notes) were all Scrapbook stickers. I stuck them to cardstock and then trimmed that so they would shake around without sticking to anything.

The Details:
Stamp: CC Jack (Digi), Sentiment from Anya Says - both from The Greeting Farm
Paper: We R Memory Keepers, Basic Black (SU), White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Soot Distress Ink
Copics:
Skin: R00, E00, E11,R20
Hair: C3,C5,C7,C9,110,YG21,YG23,YG25
Clothes: C5,C7,C9,B91,B93,B95,YR15,YR16,YR18
Misc: Washi Tape, Scribbles Black Paint, Stickers (sorry, I lost the packaging and can't remember what brand)

I hope you get a chance to play with us - you have a chance to win a Greeting Farm stamp of your choice. You can get all of the details HERE at Club Anya!

Sparkly (Spoiled) Princess!

Hello! I am playing along with Club Anya's Monday Mania challenge today! This week's challenge is brought to us by Berenice and it is to make a card with a Sparkly Princess Party theme. I am the first to admit, mine has more of a Spoiled Sparkly Princess theme!

I wiped away Wednesday's straight skirt before stamping her and drew her a slightly more full skirt, which I covered with stardust stickles! I also gave her a rub-on crown to complete the princess look. I don't know about you but I have been seeing more and more projects with Washi tape (which The Greeting Farm now carries, too!) It comes in lots of pretty colors and prints, so of course I had to have some even thought I wasn't entirely sure what to do with it besides use it as tape...I am still learning but I have discovered that you can tape it to cardstock and cut it out with die cuts or punches then carefully peel it off of the cardstock to use it. A lot of it is translucent so it adds a neat look. (The aqua piece on my card is Washi tape cut with a Nestie Labels Die and the black scallop border is Washi tape cut with a scallop border punch. ) Test a small piece on the cardstock you choose - although Washi tape is usually repositioned very easily (which comes in handy if you place it crooked!) I found that it tougher to remove from some cardstock (Gina K) than other's (Georgia Pacific) after being run through a die cut machine!

The Details:
Stamps: Wednesday Creeper (The Greeting Farm), Sentiment - Hero Arts
Paper: Fancy Pants Designs,
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00, E11,R20,G00,BG32
Hair: E50,E53,E55
Clothes: C5,C7,C9,RV21,RV23,RV25
Misc: Washi Tape, Stardust Stickles, Taylors Tiny Twinkles, Nestabilities Label Die, Scallop Border Punch (SU), Rub- On Crown (Fancy Pants)

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you will get a chance to play in the challenge, too!

Monday Mania - This Is Me

Hello! I hope your weekend was great! This is the last week of school here before Summer vacation, so I know it's going to be a crazy week with lots of end of the year activities.....Today's Monday Mania challenge at Club Anya comes from Shaela and is a "This is Me" challenge. Here is Shaela's description,"Create a project that portrays who you are. You can make a scrapbook layout, card, altered item, gift set... any kind of paper project. It can be done in your favorite colors, using your favorite CA&F image, a project that displays a cherished past-time... whatever describes you!! Please include a brief explanation in your details when you upload it to the gallery."

First I made Rockstar Anya (my favorite Anya) into a self portrait of me by giving her a rounder body and glasses and dressing her like me. Then I used my favorite colors – dark red, orange and brown. There is sewing because that is another hobby that I spend a lot of time doing. And finally, the skulls and “Keep Rockin’” are because in my head I am still 17!!

The Details:
Stamps: Rockstar Anya, Anya Says - The Greeting Farm
Paper: My Minds Eye (Orange and Skull Strip), Dark Chocolate, White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair:E02,E08,E09,E18
Clothes: C0,C1,C5,C7,C9,R29,R39,R89
Misc: Brown Felt (Paper Trey Ink), Sewing Machine

I hope you will join us at CA&F and create a project about yourself!

Can't Decide? Go for Neapolitan!

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend! Are you all as excited as I am about the new releases at The Greeting Farm and the Rockin Rebel contest? I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!! We also have another challenge for Monday Mania at Club Anya and Friends! Today's challenge comes from Claireabelle and is to be Neapolitan - in other words, use strawberry, chocolate and vanilla colors on your card! I twisted it just a bit with my card and used actual strawberries instead of the "pink" that is associated with the ice cream for my inspiration.

I used the head form the new Cuddle Anya (with her hat slightly altered to be a strawberry) and the body of the Anya in the Spotlight set. I stamped her twice, cutting out the arms from the second one. I drew a little basket to put some "strawberries" in and layered it under the second set of arms.

The Details:
Stamps: Cuddle Anya, Spotlight - both from The Greeting Farm, Sentiment from Hero Arts
Paper: K&Co, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Stain Distress Ink, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Copics:
Skin: E000,E00,E11,R20
Hair and Skirt: E21,E25,E27,E29
Shirt:E50,E53,E55
Misc: Corner Rounder (SU), Ribbon (Offray)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Monday Mania Color Challenge

Hello! First, I want to say I am so sorry about the title of my post this weekend! I wasn't trying to play a joke or be funny - it never occurred to me that by making my title "Saying Goodbye with a Sketch" anyone would think I was saying good bye to blogging or card-making! My mind didn't even go there!
My card today is a birthday card for my daughter's friend, and I used the color challenge over at Club Anya and Friends Monday Mania for inspiration! The Monday Mania challenge this week is brought to us by Michey Moo and it is to use the colors Olive, Kraft, Khaki and Sand. I think I got them all in there! This one scared me a little because I usually like brighter, more saturated colors, but I am really happy with the end result! Great color combo Michey Moo!

The Details:
Stamps: Oliver and Amelia Buddies, sentiment from Oliver and Amelia Happy Day - both The Greeting Farm
Paper: DCWV (dots), Retired SU (olive print). Old Olive, River Rock, Kraft (all SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E47,E49,100
Clothes: YG03 w/W1 over it, YG95,YG97,E30,E31,E33,E40,E43,E44
Dog: E40,E43
Misc: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8 and Ovals, Linen Thread and Button (SU), Ribbon (Offray), Pinking Scissors, Sewing Machine

Be sure you check back on Wednesday, because I get to start showing you Club Anya and Friends Previews that day! YAY!!

Have a wonderful day!

Monday Mania Ephemera

Hello! Today we have the Monday Mani challenge at Club Anya and Friends and Rinne has challenged us all to use ephemera on our cards. You may ask "What is ephemera?" (I am really hoping I am not the only one who had to ask that!!) Amy tells me, "Ephemera is all those little bits and pieces of paper and what not that usually get thrown away as you go about your day, like: newspaper clippings, business cards, shopping bags, fabric and clothing tags, ticket stubs, candy wrappers, junk mail, even broken jewelry". So I added two tags to my card today - one came from a reusable grocery bag and the other from a basket I had just bought. My daughter was going to do this challenge with me and she was loving adding all of her findings to her card - she had some bubble wrap, candy wrapper bits and parts of a fruit chip package. Alas, she ran out of steam before she finished her card!

The Details:
Stamps: Wild Sprout Gigi's head and WS Ruby's body, sentiment from Spotlight (scrapbooking set) - The Greeting Farm
Paper: Basic Grey, Vintage Cream and WHite (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Distress Ink
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair:YR00,YR14,E08,E09,E18
Clothes: YG03,YG05,YG17,G02,G05,G09,Y08,Y17,E25,E27,E29.E49
Misc: Corner Rounder (SU), Sakura Glaze Pen (Black)

Do you think it would be fun to use ephemera on your card? Check out the details for the challenge at Club Anya and Friends - you have the chance to win a CA&F stamp of your choice (that is in stock)!

I hope your day is wonderful!

Monday Mania ABC

Hi! How are you today? Pretty good here after a lovely weekend! My family and I went to see How to Train Your Dragon and it was a fun, sweet movie! Definitely one we will want to buy when it comes out! The main dragon reminded me and my DD of our kitty, Zora. Speaking of my DD - I decided the other day that she really needed some bookmarks. This was really brought home to me yesterday when I walked into the kitchen and saw her book on the counter. I picked it up to bring it to her and a steak knife fell out and hit me in the foot! She had apparently walked into the kitchen reading her book and when she had to set it down for something she picked up the nearest thing to mark her place! So, when I found out that the Club Anya Monday Mania challenge today was to make anything but a card, I decided to make her a couple of bookmarks with Oliver and Amelia!

The Details:
Stamps: Oliver and Amelia Buddies - The Greeting Farm
Paper: October Afternoon, Real Red (SU), White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair: E21,E25,E27,E29
Oliver Clothes: R24,R27,R29,R39,B000,B01,W0,W1,B34,B39

Amelia Clothes: R24,R27,R29,R39,R11,R12,R20,Y15,Y17,YR14
Cat: Y15,Y17,YR14

Romeo and Juliet

Hi! Caz issued a challenge for Monday Mania at Club Anya to use Anya and Ian as a couple (I think there was supposed to be masking involved, so I kind of cheated by cutting my images out instead of masking!) and I decided to draw them entirely new outfits and make them Romeo and Juliet. When I do this much altering I sort of treat it like paper dolls - I stamp the original image and cut it out (cutting away any extra's I don't want to use like Miss Rain's umbrella) then I trace around the cut-out with pencil and draw the new clothes. Because it's all in pencil there is no pressure - just keep playing until you are happy! Then trace those lines with a Copic multiliner (or whatever pen will suit your coloring medium), color, cut out and glue over the first cut out that you used to trace (and you have colored the skin and hair on). In this case I actually re-drew Ian's arm so they could hold hands, so I just cut away the one on the original before I glued the new clothes on top!

The Details:
Stamps: My Guy Ian; Rain, Snow, Shine - The Greeting Farm
Paper: Graphic 45, Chocolate Chip (SU), White (PTI)
Copics:
Skin:R00,E00,E11,R20
Hair:E50,E53,E55
Ian Clothes: G20,G21,G24,G94,G99,E13,E15,E17,E25,E27,E29,E50,E53,E55
Anya Clothes: E07,E09,E18,E25,E27,E29,E13,E15,E17
Misc: Brads (SU), Border Punch (EK Success), Sakura Clear Stardust pen, Foam tape

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
