Birthday Cards!!

Hi! Well, I did manage to finish both my DD and DH's birthday cards in time!! For hers I did a little portrait card, doing my best to make Rain Anya from the "Rain,Snow, Shine" set look like my daughter. She was thrilled and when she opened it at her party she kept saying "It's me!!". That made me feel all warm and glow-y!! I also played along with the Whimsical Wednesday Diedrich Dare from last week (I am a little behind on things in case you haven't noticed!!) which was to be inspired by this plate:
After reading the challenge last week I did not go back and look at the plate again because I have a tendency to be too literal so I just went with the impression it left in my mind. I am having to fight myself now not to be disappointed that I got the colors so wrong!! LOL!!

The Details:
Stamp: Rain, Snow, Shine - The Greeting Farm
Paper: Rich Razzelberry, Cool Caribbean, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black - SU, PTI White
Copics:
I will edit and add later - during the "cleaning" for the birthday party I misplaced the notebook I always write them down in as I work!!
Misc: Nestabilites Circle and Scallop Circle, Cuttlebug embossing folders, Razzelberry ribbon - SU, Eggplant Liquid Pearls, EK Success Birthday Bandles Border punch, Stickles, Foam tape

This is going to be the card for my DH (his birthday is tomorrow!)

The Details:
Stamps: Final Frontier - Doodlefactory (Starving Artistamps), Sentiment and balloons - Inkadinkadoo
Paper: Recollections DP, Smokey Shadow, White - PTI
Copics:
I will edit and add later - during the "cleaning" for the birthday party I misplaced the notebook I always write them down in as I work!!
Misc: Foam tape

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

To My Knight in SHining Armor

Hi! How are you today!? I have spent the day trying to clean my house a little. My house is always a mess because I would rather stamp or sew or knit than clean. Well, we all would, you might say. The problem is I can ignore the mess for a looong time while I do what I want to do instead. It is usually the threat of someone coming over that gets me to work! Luckily, I have a wonderful hubby who never complains about it! In fact in almost 20 years of marriage he has never once complained about the house being messy, or said a word about the huge amount of weight I have gained since we were dating! (He has many other wonderful traits, but I think those deserve a mention!) Anyway, on to my card! It just so happens it is the Father's Day card I made for him. Funny thing is, I thought last Sunday was Father's Day and I gave it to him then! The good thing about that is my Father's Day cards for my Step-dad and Father-in-law will actually be on time this year! (With all of the cards I make, I am always mailing them at the last minute! I don't know why - it's a sickness! :-)

My card today is made with the Knight from Sugar Nellies and the Castle from Doodlefactory. The DP is retired SU, and I used lots of stickles! I colored the images with Copics. I'm sorry, I don't have my usual list of colors today because I was making this on Saturday while he was out shopping and because I thought Sunday was Father's Day I was in a big hurry and I didn't write down the colors as I used them. I'll have the colors listed again on the next card!

Have a wonderful day!

Mermaid Anya at the Beach

Hi Everyone! Yeah, it's Friday! Do you have any plans for this weekend? I have to admit, for me the absolute best "plans" are to have nothing at all to do! I am a homebody and I love to have nothing that has to get done. Right now, I can't think of anything that HAS to get done this weekend, besides maybe a few things around the house, so YEAH!

On a different subject, I am really struggling with lay-outs for my cards lately. I think I need to find some sketches and maybe also do some sketch challenges. I kind of by-passed that with this card by just stamping a background (Doodlefactory Tropical Backdrop, which I bought at Starving Artist Stamps ) for Mermaid Anya (The Greeting Farm). As soon as I saw this background I imagined her sunning herself on a big rock near the shoreline....

The only " extras" on this card are some small stick-on pearls in her hair and her tail has clear Spica glitter on it. Everything is colored with Copics:

(I am just going to give the colors used on the Mermaid, because the list is really long for the background!)
Skin- E50, E53, RV21
Hair- BV000, BV02, BV04, BV08
Top-B000, B02
Tail- G02, G05, G07

Thanks for looking and I hope your weekend is Fabulous!
