New TGF Stamps Are Here!

WooHoo! You can get the new Cheekies and Oliver and Amelia RIGHT NOW at The Greeting Farm!! I had so much fun celebrating the new release at PCP with my fellow TGF fans! If you were not able to make it, I am so sorry! It was a blast! 10 different conversations going on at once and SO much laughing!

I made a card today with Cheeky Mate! I just LOVE her boots! And after seeing Kim's (PaperBabe) card on the Hop last night, I had to make mine red, too! (Although, mine do not compare to the fabulous red boots Kim colored! I want some of those boots!)

I thought I might share a little about how I figure out which color to use when I am coloring my images...I have a chart put out by Copic and available HERE on their site, that I printed out on my favorite cardstock to color on (Paper Trey Ink). I filled in the chart with my markers and when I am coloring I almost always hold my DP up to the chart to pick out my shades. Even though there are a LOT of Copic colors, most of us don't own them all, and even if we did, sometimes you are going to need a color that is just not available! So I try to find the closest color and then decide how it is off - like does it need to be grayer, or more red tinged, etc. In the case of this card there was not a yellow like the DP. (I often seem to have a hard time with yellow.) Y21 was the closest but was too dark and a little too red-based. Y000 was too pure/bright of a yellow. So I colored the hat and dress with Y21, lightened it with the colorless blender, then colored over it with Y000. For the shading I used Y23 with Y00 over it. I think it ended up matching really well!

Traci. I just love your style. I am so glad that I joined the Hop so that I could find your blog. I just love the way you combined all the colors of your Sprouts with the papers. Great job!

This is so neat, I like how's she's sitting in the oval and the layout of this is SO cool! I'm with you, anything but a basic "sun" yellow and it's tough!

Gorgeous card Traci, I think you did a fantastic job matching your colors... it can be tough sometimes!
And it's so fun to read that we have a pretty similar process when we color, I use the chart too and I'm always holding my pattern papers up to it trying to figure out which markers to use. :)
