Playing Catch Up

Hello! I have been taking pictures of the cards I have been making for the past couple of months but not posting them, so I think I will play catch up and post some of them in groups. I'll try not to do too many at once. Just to make it simple I am not going to post the info that I  usually do, but if you are curious about something please ask. I will do my best to answer any questions.

Thanks for stopping by!

My First Fusion Challenge

I love reading other card makers blogs!! One of the ways I find new blogs to read is by looking at challenge blogs that interest me and following some of the beautiful creations to their homes (boy, that sounds very stalker-ish!) I almost never participate in the challenge blogs for 2 reasons. 1-I am horrible about getting my cards photographed and loaded in a timely manner and 2-Once I see others' creations for the challenges I have a hard time getting those out of my head and coming up with something of my own. However, I really love the idea behind this new challenge blog Fusion, so I am going to try my hand at it.  The challenge is to pick either the sketch or the photo (or be very brave and combine them). Here is this weeks challenge:

And here is my card:

I chose to go with the photo for inspiration. I feel like I sometimes take challenges too literally, but maybe if I can do these more often my skills will sharpen.

Foxy for Barbara

Hello!! I have changed the look of my blog back to one of the basic templates. We'll see if that helps with any of the Blogger issues I have been having.......

Almost all of the cards I have been making lately have been for Operation Write Home. I am really loving having such a purpose for my creations. I am going to try to start posting a few a day.....This is one of the few I have made lately that is not for OWH. It is for a friend in another state who has been doing Weight Watchers and has reached a loss of 25lbs. I am so proud of her!!

I used:
Stamps: PTI Hello Foxy, Mama Elephant Say What
Paper: PTI White Cardstock, Heidi Grace Paper (I think - I cut it up into 6x6 and forgot to write down what it was!)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Distress
Copics: R81, R83, R85, W0, W1
Other: SU Rhinestones

Pattern Play Class Day 2

Well, it was amazing for me that I actually got my card made and posted on day 1 of the Pattern Play class. Now I am back to being more like myself and I am getting my card for day 2 up on day 3!! On day 2 we were shown how to change patterned paper using background stamps, embossing and ink. I don't have any background stamps that were bold enough for this technique so I went with a PTI flower set that I have. I will say that stamping individual elements with embossing ink made it very hard to REALLY plot out where each item was going, since I couldn't really see where I had already stamped! It was an adventure!!

Card Details:
Stamp: PTI Rosie Posie
Paper: Pebbles Walnut Grove
CardStock: SU Early Espress, PTI Vintage Cream
Ink: Distress Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade
Misc: Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, PTI Headline Alphabet, Viva Decor Pearl Pen Dark Brown

By the way, I apologize for those annoying lines of stitching running through my text. They didn't use to be there and I am not sure how to get rid of them. If anyone knows, I would love some tips!! Thanks

Hello, Nice to See You Again!

Wow, it has been a looooong time since I have posted! Here is the abbreviated version of why I have been gone so long - My husband got PCS orders so we were going to be leaving Alaska. First we needed to sell our house and apparently people who are looking to buy a house don't want to see all of my stuff all over the place! So, I packed everything up and had no access to all of my stamping goodies. Then, we sold the house (YAY!) and moved across the county. We stopped and visited family along the way, and now are nicely settled in the new place......I have been stamping again for the last couple of months but the pictures of the cards I made never seemed to make it off of the camera! The thing that has finally motivated me to get them on my blog again is I am taking my first Online Card Class.

Today was the first day of the Pattern Play class and I wanted to link to the cards I made! The stamp is from Simon Says Stamp and is called Furry Cat & Box. In the first card I colored it up to look like my kitty Snickers and in the second I just made it a cute grey tabby! The second card is part of a stack I am making to send to Operation Write Home.

Thanks so much for stopping by! It was so nice to see you again! :)Traci

I Can See Clearly Now at TGF

It's gonna be a BRIGHT and SUNSHINY day for sure at The Greeting Farm! Hooray!

Today is the day- two new sets are available for purchase as we are proud to debut our new line of CLEAR stamps!

Here is my project using the My Fairy Princess set:

When I was making my card for yesterday's preview I made this tag to go on the button, but when I finished the tag I thought it looked a little Christmas-y. That immediately made me imagine this sweet little fairy trimming her tree with lots of fairy dust and I had to put it on a card!

We are SO excited to begin today's hop combining some TGF 'alum' with our Farmers! Be sure to check out the TGF BLOG for a complete list of links, as one lucky winner will receive BOTH sets just for commenting and participating in the hop! And just in case you get lost along the way in all of the excitement that is CLEARLY mounting...here is the list:

and our Farmers!

That's it for me today, but be sure to head over to the TGF BLOG, where it's ALL beginning! HAPPY RELEASE DAY, everyone!
