Hello! Happy Wednesday! Since it is Wednesday, that means there is a new challenge at the
All That Scraps Challenge blog. Today's challenge is to use newspaper or a book in your card. Now, I don't know about you, but I have a HUGE attachment to books. I love the idea of an electronic reader (like the Kindle or something) but I can't see it replacing the feel of a book in my hand, or the smell of a real book (is that weird?). Anyway, because of that I couldn't bear to tear out a page of a book, even one I didn't like so I went with newspaper! To dress it up a bit I sprayed it several times with Shimmerz Spritz, then inked the edges up, and finally sewed on it. I made the flower by cutting 4 different sized of circles from the Spritzed newpaper. I cut about halfway through the circle and then overlapped the cut edges, making a slight cone, then layered my "cones". A brad holds them together and to the page!

That is really adorable and I totally agree - I couldn't bring myself to tear a page out of a book, either! And I also LOVE the smell and feel of books... :) So you're not alone!

I saw this on the ATS blog and my jaw dropped. It's one of my absolute favorites EVER!! The shading and the coloring of this is OUTstanding! Perfection!
